About Me
I was a customer service representative in a BPO company specifically, a healthcare billing specialist at Laboratory Corporation of America for 2 years and 1 month. I have an experience with billing processes specifically in billing patients, doctor’s account and insurance companies. I collect payments and processing it and I also have a knowledge in doing refunds and adjustments with the patient’s bill and do insurance bill adjustments. I also do patient scheduling and helping the patient, doctor and insurances with their testing and billing concerns. I also handle insurance verification, filing claims to insurance companies, worker’s compensations, and filing bankruptcy. We do bill all types of insurances, such as Medicare, Medicaid, Blue cross blue shield, United Healthcare, Tricare, Humana, WellCare, Aetna, Imagine 360, First Health Network and supplemental insurances like Aetna Medicare, Mutual of Omaha, AARP Medicare, Aetna senior supplemental etc. For most of the time, I educate the patients with their insurance company’s responses and denials on the claims and helping doctors as well in updating diagnosis codes for the corrected claims. I also send invoices, letters and notices to the patient. Additionally, carry out the responsibility of investigating the patient’s bill and testing with other departments and reviewing explanation of benefits from insurances. I don't have experience yet as a virtual assistance and this will be my first time trying, but i have the knowledge about taking phone calls since I took phone calls for over 2 years already. I also handle patient scheduling or appointment on my previous role and managing patient testing and billing information. I also have a a knowledge with patient insurance verification and receiving lab orders from doctor's offices. I worked in a daily basis helping out patient and insurance on claims investigation and insurance payment posting.
